Lab 31: PIM Sparse-mode

Configure OSPF and pim sparse-mode on all routers.

ip multicast-routing

interface Ethernet0/0
 ip pim sparse-mode

Configure R2 as RP with its loopback address 10.0.0.2 and also configure this RP address on other routers:

ip pim rp-address 10.0.0.2

Configure R4's Ethernet0/0 interface to join multicast group 224.1.1.1:

interface Ethernet0/0
 ip igmp join-group 224.1.1.1

As a result, you can ping multicast group address 224.1.1.1 from R1:

R1#ping 224.1.1.1

Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 1, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 224.1.1.1, timeout is 2 seconds:
